Everywhere you look Ozempic is there, in the news, commercials on TV, and on your local buses. As someone that has battled with weight my entire life I was interested in knowing more about it and thought I could provide some information here that I was able to obtain. Ozempic is ordered by your physician if you have type 2 diabetes or as a weight loss treatment.
Lets have a look at the Side Effects:
Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea are the most common side effects. Reportedly these symptoms go away within a few weeks. Serious side effects although rare are possible thyroid tumors including cancer, inflammation of the pancreas, changes in vision, low blood sugar, dehydration leading to kidney problems, severe stomach problems, serious allergic reactions, and gallbladder problems. Possible long-term side effects include diabetic retinopathy (damaged blood vessels in the eye), gallbladder disease, pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas), and thyroid cancer.
In Canada Ozempic costs approximately 200-300 dollars per month. For people that have insurance this will only be covered if it is prescribed for diabetes.
How Does Ozempic Work?
Ozempic works by mimicking a naturally occurring hormone that essentially tells the brain you are full.
Is Ozempic Addictive?
Although not reportedly addictive there are some concerns about the drug. Recent reports on the drug are reporting concerns of misuse of the drug. Patients on the drug increase the drug or use longer than prescribed often leading to seeking other sources to obtain the medication.
New studies are finding that Ozempic may also be an alternative treatment to addiction of drugs and alcohol, however they are still in the testing stage of this.
Ozempic does not have any effect on approximately 15% of users. Some users reported having to stop the medication due to serious gastric intolerance.
Overall there is a lot of positive information to use Ozempic. If you are willing to accept the possibilities of the side effects and are monitored by a Doctor most people have positive results. It is stressed that diet and exercise are important while using Ozempic.
